You are welcome at all of our services!

We meet, to worship God, each Sunday and we also have two additional Holy Communion services every month; on the 1st Tuesday of the month it is at Horndon at 12:15 pm (after Open Church) and on the 2nd Tuesday at The Rectory at 7:30pm.

We aim to make all our services as inclusive and accessible as possible and try to incorporate traditional and contemporary elements, our desire being to help people gain a closer and relationship with God and equip them for living out their faith in their daily lives. Our worshipping communities include people from a range of different backgrounds, and experiences. Please do come and join us!

Due to clergy constraints we hold regular services each Sunday in one church in the Parish at 10:00am.  Plus each month in Horndon on the Hill we hold a Book of Common Prayer (BCP) Holy Communion, and in Orsett and Bulphan a Common Worship (CW) Holy Communion at 8:45am.   Details for these can be found on the services schedule on the website or the HOBNOB (Parish magazine)

The services we offer are:

  • All Together Holy Communion Service: A Holy Communion service when the congregations of all ages from all three churches join together to worship God and receive the bread and wine in what is both a reflective and a joyous occasion.
  • Family Service: An informal service where people of all ages worship together.
  • FOREST CHURCH: On the first Saturday of each month we have Forest Church at 4pm which alternate between the three churches.  This is an outdoor service with songs and activities, primarily but not exclusively for younger people.  Not much deters us from experiencing the outdoors weather wise, so wellies, boots and warm hats , gloves and coats are the order of the day, we also have a fire pit to help keep us warm and there is always refreshments afterwards, which all are welcome to.

We also conduct baptisms, weddings and funerals. Please do look at the Life Events menu to find out about these, and if you have any further questions, please contact us through our Contact Us page.
